Microblading vs Ombre Brows

Microblading is done using a very fine blade of needles is used to create thin, hair-like marks on the skin, which last up to 24 months. Ombre brows use the same techniques, but is more suitable for those with oilier skin so that it can last longer.

How long do they last?

Both types of Microblading are a way of semi-permanent make-up, a manual process is inserting pigment into the upper layers of skin were to a desired fullness and shape of the eyebrows. The effects last up to 24 months after which the pigment fades leaving the skin and your natural brows exactly as they were. We recommend a yearly touch-up to keep your brows looking their very best.

Is it painful?

Each person is unique to what they consider painful. Most clients experience minimal discomfort due to a numbing process beforehand to the brow area. Most clients compare it to the sensation of hairs being tweezed or threaded.

How long does it take to heal ?

The initial healing period generally lasts up to 14 days, but can take 3-4 weeks to see the final results. After the procedure, aftercare instruction will be given on how to properly care for and maintain your new brows as well as what to expect during the healing process. You will need to plan ahead and know that you will be advised to avoid any activities that cause heavy sweating, direct sun exposure, and avoid getting your new brows wet for the first 7days.

Will a technician draw, shape and map my eyebrows?

Yes, we will shape your brows according to your face structure and your brow bone before we start the procedure. We will use our brows mapping technique to calculates the exact beginning and ending points of your brows in conjunction with creating the ideal arch for each individual face. Combining these three points with your natural bone structure allows our eyebrow specialist, to create a custom brow for every person.

How long does the procedure take?

The first appointment usually takes about 2-3 hours.Touch-up appointment are usually 1-2 hours. Majority of the appointment is spent on brow shaping, mapping (brow measurement), numbing and pigment color matching to your natural brows.

What should I do to prepare for my procedure?

Avoid getting your brows waxed, threaded or tinted at least 7 days before your appointment. Avoid any blood-thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to your appointment. This includes: Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen. Avoid caffeine or alcohol within 24 hours of your appointment. You must wait at least one year after you have been on Accutane for microblading. It is highly recommended that you avoid tanning beds and excessive sun exposure (sun burn) 30 days prior to your procedure.

What happens after the microblading has faded away?

Microblading is semi-permanent and fades over time. Your skin continually sloughs away dead skin cells causing the micro bladed hairstrokes to move closer to the surface of your skin where they will eventually fade away. Therefore, touch-up is recommended yearly to keep your microblade brows their best.

Will microblading ruin my natural brow hairs?

Microblading does not ruin your natural hairs or cause them to stop growing or fall out. Your natural brow hairs and skin will remain as before the microblading process (with the exception of natural aging factors).
